As a nursing student I had an insatiable appetite for books and spent more of my student loan than was necessary buying loads of books…if it had to do with nursing school it was in my library. Eventually I realized that I didn’t have time to read all those books but did keep a few tried and true workhorses, one of which I am sharing with you today.

The book “Fluid & Electrolytes” (#ad) is from the Saunders Nursing Survival Guide series and it is excellent! One of the things I really like about this book (which I still use today) is how it explains the physiology of electrolytes and fluid balance. More than just a listing of lab values, this book explains why and how electrolyte imbalances affect the body. Plus…BONUS…it includes NCLEX-style questions at the end of each chapter. How cool is that?
